My fondest memories as a child was at meal times and in the kitchen. We were a large family with four kids and my mother would always say there was room for one more and one more.

Friends and relatives always knew that they would be welcome at our table and so they would drop by. Food for me has since been a source of bringing people together and nothing is more satisfying than seeing all the people you love laughing, eating, and making memories around the dining table.

That’s where my love and passion for food began.

Born in Malaysia to Chinese parents, I moved to Canada and completed a Masters degree in Education and Psychology - two other loves of mine. After meeting my Sri Lankan husband, we moved to England where we had our two children. It was there where I also attended the Tante Marie School Of Culinary Arts and completed my Cordon Bleu training.

Food wasn’t always easy. My youngest son was born with an array of allergies. He couldn’t eat eggs, wheat, gluten, nuts, and more. But that was a blessing in disguise. It made me think outside the box and get creative with my cooking. It also made me realize that there are people out there in the same situation, but who didn’t have the same culinary background as I.

My eldest son eventually became vegan and that immersed me into the world of plant-based diets.

With my exposures to so many cultures and cuisines, formal culinary training, and educational backgrounds, it just made sense to share my passion and experiences with others.

Be it host parties, explore different cuisines, put together recipes within allergy restrictions, or accompany you on a shopping trip. I want to give others the confidence that I’ve gained, to tackle whatever challenges they have in the kitchen, and give them the means necessary to reach their goals.
